Project X - Calderdale is a social enterprise that has been set up to work in creative and exciting ways with young people aged 13-25 and their parents and carers living in the Upper Calder Valley.
The project uses the ideas of young people and their families and carers coupled with the skills and experience of our staff and voluntary governing board to create and deliver an informed, innovative and constructive range of services for families in our community; these services include early intervention support, information, training, drama and arts-based activities, volunteering and employment opportunities, with the emphasis given to empowering all those receiving our services, as well as all those involved directly in the Project itself, to develop their own initiatives with our full support.
Our over-arching aims are to increase and develop individual confidence, communication and skills; to promote social inclusion and community cohesion; to encourage inter-generational communication; to have a positive impact on young parenting, teenage pregnancy and aspects of anti-social behaviour including drug and alcohol use; and to develop and disseminate models of best practice.
